Contaminated Lips & Desire

Contaminated Lips

Did I contaminate your heart with my lips?

Is your heat eroding because of my promises.

Or so you thought.

You pictured us swell.

You had a story pumping through your veins.

You thought it would be that simple.

Careless and naïve you are.

Don’t slop your ice cream when you eat it.

It doesn’t come that easy.

It never does. It’s best you learn the hard way.

You’ll have to throw some fertilizer on that hole next time around.

The chemicals help mend the sores.

The burns that sting each time you close your eyes.

Time will grow and they will hide in the shades of your past.

A spark will ignite a smile.

It’s better this way.

Now turn around.

And look no more.

Desire

It’s like a force that has an overwhelming after taste,

Makes you feel like a man, like a king.

Knowing what you want to do next.

Having a goal. It keeps your loins greased like a freshly oiled engine.

It’s like a wake-up call where you are pleased to be awake.

It’s like a warm shower in the morning, when you feel fresh and smell good.

It’s almost like an orgasm.

It’s alive and it’s inside of you.

This brisk sensation. This concise realization.

And then you get slapped.

Slapped around by life.

By those around you, by your doubts.

By the critics and those who are cynical.

By the go-getters and most women.

But it’s what keeps you hanging on the edge of the ledge.

It’s what knows you need it to be content in life.

It’s that cold shower that wets you with anxiety and questions.

But most importantly, it’s the sensation of reality.

It’s the voice inside of you that doesn’t hide in shadows.

And never stops knocking.

It’s that answer to your needs and direction in life.

It’s a magnet that pulls your mind in to speak through to others.

It’s your necessity.

Like eating and drinking, pissing and fucking.

It’s your true desire,

That’s what it is.

And it sure as hell feels good to realize.
