Outside

Outside

I hang myself out to dry,

to see if the warm breeze will comfort me.

I hang myself out to dry,

to see if the wind will carry me away.

I hang myself out to dry,

to see if the sun will cast a spell on me.

I hang myself out to dry,

to not stand alone and wet inside.

With the naive thought that someone

will come with a warm blanket.

I take a step, I’ve made my choice.

I leave behind the ifs and don’ts.

  1. Uroczy wiersz….tyle w nim Ciebie…bardzo go lubie!

  2. “Outside” resonates on so many levels – the speaker’s fear of aloneness, of commitment and the dream of escape and of better worlds. Great work.
